Press Release (issued in Monrovia as of October 17, 2017)

The citizen Bureau for Development and Productivity wishes to commend participants of the October 10, 2017 elections which was a giant step forward, conducted with prayers for the peacefulness of the elections.

We want to appreciate the electorates of the 2017 presidential and representatives elections, in as much advocacy for peaceful conduct of said elections went down to the people as shown that they adhere to the awareness for peace made by the many groups, since there is no evidence of violence incidents across the country relative to the conduct of the elections. We hope to see this pattern of peaceful behavior by the people be continued in case of run off or future elections in Liberia.

Even though there are statements about incidents of disagreements and dis-satisfactions as expressed by political parties namely the Liberty Party and the All Liberian Party, of Cllr. Charles Walker Brumskine and Mr. Benoni Urey respectively, amongst others, in relations to the just ended October 10, 2017 polls.

With regards to the above we are admonishing those who are aggrieved to take their cases through the rule of law and not to do anything else that will have the propensity to develop violence. Finally we want to call on all peace loving citizens to stand for peace and to expose anyone or group of people planning to disrupt the peaceful electoral process by taken the laws unto themselves.

Best,

John Kamma
