We do extend profound thanks and appreciations to all of us the people of Liberia for the exercised of our democratic franchise as enshrine in the 1986 Liberian constitution expressed in Article 1 as quoted below:
“All power is inherent in the people. All free governments are instituted by their authority and for their benefit and they have the right to alter and reform the same when their happiness and safety so required. In order to ensure democratic government which responds to the wishes of the governed, the people shall have the right, at such period, and in such manner as provided for under the constitution, to cause their public servants to leave office and to fill vacancies by regular elections and appointment.”
Having said so, the Citizens Bureau Liberia does congratulate the President and Vice-president elect of the Republic of Liberia following the December 26, 2017 run-off presidential elections in persons of Ambassador, Senator George Manneh Weah and Senator Jewel Howard Taylor respectively for their resounding victory thus obtaining 61.5% of the total number of votes cast, and not forgetting the members of the newly elected parliament in the October 10, 2017 polls.
We also want to thank all those who aspired for elected offices doing these periods but conceded defeat as their courage to concede having tested the democratic process contribute in defining our values as a people of one nation and one destiny.
We also extend thanks and deepest gratitude to the international community who stood by us the people of Liberia for their tireless efforts in ensuring the successes we experienced going through the ballot box.
Long live His Excellency, Ambassador, Senator and president elect George M. Weah
Long live the Peace loving people of Liberia
